Hi,
I've just opened a PayPal account, mainly to transfer or access money abroad while living overseas. I don't have an active mobile telecoms account, and so cannot receive SMSs on my smartphone.
Before I transfer any money onto the account, I would like to know that I can then access or process it (for payments etc) WITHOUT having to enter a security code (key) sent by SMS to my mobile. So... can I access funds and make transactions without a security key SMS - is this authentication optional or mandatory? Reading the PayPal blurb on their website, it looks like 2FA (2-factor authentication, with a SMS security key) is optional, because it is something you 'can' do rather than 'must' do.
Thanks in advance for any help and insights!
