Withdrew money to a non-existent bank account- now what?

I have a closed bank account on my paypal account. The reason it is there is because months ago I almost purchased something online using paypal as payment, but never actually went through with it. However, the transaction still says pending. Therefore, when I tried to delete my closed bank account from paypal, it wouldn't allow it because I had a supposed pending transaction.

Today, I went to withdraw money from paypal into my current and primary checking account. However, it didn't default to the primary account and is now being withrdrawn into the closed account.

1. How do I cancel the pending transaction that is making it impossible for me to delete this closed bank account?

2. Where will the money go that is being routed to the closed account and can I get it back?

If the payment fails to transfer to that bank account then it will bounce back to your paypal account balance but you will get a small fee for a failed transfer.

Give it a week and see if it goes back automatically and if not give customer services a bell to trace it.

Thank you so much. I'll give it a week or so.

Hello!

I have the same problem. I withdraw to a closed bank account. May I ask what happened to the money? Did you get it back? If so, how many days did it take?

Thank you.
