Is there a simple way to create a coupon code for free shipping without a button, just a code?

It's not quite that simple as there is some custom scripting involved.  There are no account profile built in features or options for offering coupon codes.   The logic needed must be custom coded and is associated with an item button.

Another option would be find a 3rd party shopping cart or service that has the features you need.
