"We have just cancelled a pending PayPal payment by a bank transfer to you." I sold an item on eBay weeks ago and usually it would take up to 21 days until the funds would be in my account. Now, I just received an email saying the payment to me was cancelled? I don't know what is going on here...
Same thing happened to me recently, and I'd already sent out the item and the buyer received it (as eBay instructs in order to release funds more quickly), so I never got the money.
Called both PayPal and eBay and their customer service reps only said they'd "make note of it," as if that was going to help or I hadn't "made note" of the same thing on my end. After two message exchanges sent through the PayPal message centre explaining the issue, the poor phone support I received, and pointing them to links explaining their own policy on pending transaction, they reimbursed my loss. Hopefully this doesn't happen again, though!
DBCEL, you wouldn't happen to still have the links to the eBay and PayPal policies, would you? I'm afraid I'll have to follow your footsteps to hopefully get reimbursed for my loss.
