Hi, I jut created the account and I'm a bit leery of the security of online commerce. So, forgive an old man asking, is this secure and can I use it with confidence?

Paypals 'site' is secure but paypal is only a payment processor.

Many scams you have to be aware of and also don't get caught out with phishing emails.

And read up on buyer and seller protection.

I am probably nearer your age and have been using paypal for 15 years with no problems but you have to read up on things first and risk assess your transactions.
