I received the same unathorized transaction. I called PayPal and they were completely unhelpful, but said I will need to call my bank account to stop the payment/transaction. You should call your Bank Account immediately. Unforutnately, my Bank charges a fee for a stop payment... Calling PayPal back for options now.

I had my account hacked on 12/22/2016. I called Paypal immediately. They said they would try to stop it, but they didn't. I have talked with Paypal several times since. They are aware of the problem, but I still have not received credit back. I have been told they have to follow certain procedures regarding RAISE COM because Patriot Act? I have spoken with my bank, as well, but I am still waiting on credit back. I had 3 charges of $84, $78, and $192. Super frustrating, especially at this time of year.

Don't forget to change your PayPal password. I have updated mine and also called PayPal to Freeze my account until the pending transaction is completely canceled.

This also happened to me. $480 charged to my paypal on Christmas. I've never heard of RAISE.com before. I've filed a dispute with PayPal, am talking to my bank and will be getting a new card. I also contacted Raise directly and they send me a strange response saying they recently partnered with PayPal and to contact them directly. This is the full email from RAISE: Thank you for contacting Raise Member Services regarding this issue regarding your PayPal account. Raise is an online marketplace for gift card purchases, and we recently partnered with PayPal. PayPal is one of the world’s most secure and anonymous forms of online payment, and we are happy to help resolve this issue. Because PayPal is so secure, here at Raise, we are limited in the amount of information we can obtain. Because of our recent partnership, PayPal has informed us that the best way for these issues to be resolved is to contact PayPal customer support at 1(888) 221-1161. As you have already spoken with PayPal, I will be passing along your email to my associates who will be handling this matter so that they are able to best prepare to resolve this matter with PayPal as quickly as possible. Of course, if you have any other questions, please let us know how we can assist you further! Warm regards, Martin Raise Member Services
