Remember the Bookmobiles of the past?

Bookmobiles were a custom mobile mini-library that went to underserved communities with books to inspire the imagination and develop the minds of kids that would not be exposed to the material without the Bookmobile bringing it to them.

We are the modern day version of the Bookmobile. We are a Techmobile. A custom technology exhibit vehicle that brings new technology to kids in underserved areas. 3D printers, robots, composite materials, and other tech stuff that will inspire the imagination and develop the minds of kids that would not be exposed to this technology if we did not bring it to them.

We need sponsors for various materials/services and what we want is a very small recurring monthly sponsorship from our sponsors of 4-12 dollars per month. They sponsor the same amount every month and instead of subscriptions we want the paypall button to say sponsor.

So , the question is: Is it possible to have a recurring sponsor button to click instead of subscription?

Sounds like you just need some different verbiage and/or your own graphic using the word Sponsor instead of Subscription or Donation. Behind the scenes you would still be using the mechanics of a subscription. PayPal allows you to use your own custom graphics, what you can't do is modify the PayPal Checkout Screens however, you can pass a description of your project to the Checkout Screens, same as you would for any item that you would sell.

What may work for you is to allow your Sponsors the option to make a one time offer or have it function like a subscription. See the example below for some ideas. Note, the example actually uses the subscription command but, it's worded like a Donation. You could change the wording to Sponsor and also create your own custom graphic. Feel free to tweak for your needs.
