"Internal security" blocking me from making payments with my Chase credit card?

Hello,
I have been trying to make a payment from a third party site using my Chase Freedom credit card (which was successfully added in my PayPal Wallet).
When I click "Pay with PayPal" on the site, I get redirected to PayPal, where the only option I am given is to enter a new debit/credit card number. If I re-enter my Chase Freedom card, the PayPal site shows a loading screen, then goes back to the previous screen asking to add a new debit/credit card.
I have contacted Customer Support and they replied me today saying this:
I reviewed your account as I informed you I would and I was able to confirm the reason you the funding source you were trying to use yesterday for your recurring payment with the vendor, was due to our internal security blocking that funding source from being used. It would not allow you to add the card information during check since it already listed on your PayPal account. The only workaround if that is the card you wish to use is to utilize that card directly with the vendor.
What does this mean exactly? Does this mean I can never use my credit card to make payments using PayPal? Anyway to fix this??
Thanks
