This week I made a purchase on Newegg.com. I paid via PayPal due to a promotion that allowed for a $25 reward for purchases over $350+. Fast forward a few days to today and my shipment never showed up, I looked up my order on FedEx and see there was a delivery exemption for me not being home (I was, but I digress). Long story short I call FedEx, ask if I can pick up the order and they say I can’t because it requires a signature upon delivery so I have to get approval from Newegg to allow me to pick up at a FedEx location on Monday (it’s been set to be redelivered on Tuesday). It’s frustrating but ok, at least I can get it not too much later. So I call Newegg, explain my situation and find out had I paid any other way they could help me, but because I paid via PayPal I HAVE to have it delivered to my address (should note my order was over $750 which locks me into this problem, had it been under that amount I could have it scheduled for pick up). And the type of FedEx delivery service that is being used delivers between 9–12 AM. I can’t have anyone home and I can’t just take time off work to sign for a package. This is extremely frustrating and stupid, I shouldn’t have to go through this runaround with different companies to get a package I paid for with my own money. To say I’m a little frustrated I can’t just be allowed to pick it up over some dumb requirement by PayPal for this is an understatement. Any body here have any suggestions on what I could do, or just who I could take this too? Because this whole process just boggles my mind and makes no sense. I should be allowed to waive a signature for delivery if I want to, I paid for the items.
