I purchased an item on ebay w/buy it now using paypal funds. Payment is instant. Days later I receive a note from the seller stating the item "broke" and a refund has been issued. I have the feeling this is some scam because of the item supposedly breaking a month ago and the seller stating they forgot the item was even on ebay for sale. My paypal refund should have also been instant unless they removed the funds, sent me this note then issued a scam refund. It's past the clearing date which tells me they did remove my payment from paypal and knew the item was still there and then used a bank account no longer open or something to issue the refund. What do I do now? Complain to ebay? If I complain to ebay can this seller void my refund? I am not sure what to do here.
