Payment reciept for something I didn't buy

Hi, I just got a Pay Pal message in my e-mail saying "my pay pal payment has been sent in the amount of $1841.87" I DID NOT order anything for that price and I never would! I haven't even used my Pay Pal account for a couple of months. I went to my Pay Pal account and nothing about it is there. I have the receipt # the invoice # payment # and the name of who it is being sent to. What do I do?? HELP!! Thank you

Sounds like a spoof email - if you don't have a notice in your Account Activity section - then nothing happened.

* Forward the entire email to:    spoof@paypal.com.
* Do not alter the subject line or forward the message as an attachment.
* Delete the suspicious email from your inbox.
* Never click on any links within the email or open any attachments.

Look at the email address domain and wording in the email, grammar, salutation, spelling, etc.  If any of these are questionable, it's most likely a spoof.
