How can this happen?

I sold a laptop and sent it abroad, i was very clear in my photo that there were a few dings, I also clearly stated that the item could not be returned, plus in the postage section i said no returns.
I put up pictures of spec which included the page showing the dvd drive, its a mac so wouldnt show this if the dvd drive was not recognised.
On arrival she opened a case saying the DVD drive was not working, after a lot of to and fro I offered her money to pay for either a new drive or an external one as i could not prove that it wasnt working.
She accepted and closed the case, today she has filed a new case (after having the laptop a while) saying its not as described and the hard drive doesnt work.
I have escallated the case showing the images of the computer and of course they will see the talk between us, the laptop was running fine when it left us and she has either gone inside it and damaged it or installed the dvd drive incorrectly (my son even said whats to say she hasnt swapped the drive over!)
I am hoping paypal will rule in my favour, its taught me a lesson, 1 not to send abroad and 2 to try and deal face to face.
If the case goes against me then i'll close my ebay and paypal account, im stressed out with all this as ive been with ebay since they opened in the UK but at 65 years young i thought people were honest.
I do not see how a case can be closed then a new one opened after an agreement (even though there was nothing wrong in the first place)

Ive tried my best, have to use google translate to contact but now all she wants is her money back, ok with chargeback but can deal with that when it happens or if it happens as ive kept all emails including one that says "Sorry, but it does not suit me" which was early on.
It's taught me not to deal abroad or better still to deal face to face.
As i say its my sons and i agreed to put it on ebay, he is gutted that he may loose money he cant afford.
Have never been scammed before so a lesson learned too.
Will post back the outcome but according to the paypal website it may be mid August.
