What's the status say in your account?

I am the reciever, and the transaction never happened on my end. The money has left his balance and says it was succesfully sent to my email. I have clerified with him, it is the correct email.

Have you "confirmed" your PayPal Account email address?   You can have up to 8 email addresses linked to your PayPal Account.  Anyone of those addresses can receive funds however, each one must be confirmed.
