about PayPal payment

hi,

I am a newbie for using PayPal and ask a question about the payment.

I have added a bank checking account and a credit card to my PayPal account.

Today I buy an item on Ebay using PayPal with the checking account.

But, paypal balance and checking account balance is not enought. So, I have two question:

1) Why is it successful to pay the item where the above two balance is not enough?

2) When I recieve the deliveried item, does it automaticly switch payment method to my credit card for the remainder?

It will always use a paypal balance and bank account payment together OR  a paypal balance and a card payment together BUT it won't split a payment between a bank account and a card.

Your best bet is to click on "other funding sources" DURING the payment process and selecting a card to pay the rest after the balance is debited.
