Withdrawal to Unverified Account

I mistakenly chose to withdraw money to an Unverified checking account. The android app actually allowed me to do this. I called customer support and they were unable to do anything or reassure me of what will happen. It's been over 12 hours now. Will this go through? Did I just delete my money? Why did paypal even attempt to process this when the account was unverified?

If the transfer fails then normally the money bounces back to your paypal account balance but that may take a few days, you may also be charged a small failure fee.

Well i hope you're right. Either way, I thought PayPal required a checking account to be verified. This shouldn't have been possible.

Paypal "sends" the payment when you choose to withdraw it, its not until its has processed through to your bank account that there is a problem as it can't hit an unverified bank account.

Always best to link and confirm things first.

Actually I should have removed this account a long time ago, I didn't even realize it was still on my PayPal.  I did not ever want to do business with that bank again and now I think I may have given them all of the money I earned last month. So, are you saying that unverified or not, if the account exists the transfer will process?
