Where do pending payments show up?

I just setup my paypal account and have received a payment which says its in the pending payment section. and I can't get it for 21 days.  Where does this show up?  How do I know I recieved the payment that was sent to me?

When the funds are released, they will be deposited into your paypal account balance.
