Receive payments

I have a new personal PayPal account. I have made payments but cannot receive. I got an email saying I received a payment 5 days ago but my account balance shows $0. Can anyone help with this? Do I need to verify my account?? If so...how?? Thanks much!!

Here's how to confirm your email address:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click Profile near the top of the page.
  3. Click Update next to Email.
  4. Choose an email address and click Confirm. We’ll send an email to that address.
  5. Open the email, and click the link to confirm your address. You will automatically return to the PayPal site where you will be asked to enter your password.

 

 

Also double check the email address the person paid to and make sure they did not make a mistake with the spelling of that email address.

 

Also did you get a paypal email to say you had received the payment??

Have you verified your email address?

 

Do you have a business account? Because you are not allowed to sell on a personal account.

 

Personal accounts are for sending gifts of money to family / friends or sending payments.

Thanks for replying! It is only a personal account where I send and receive money with friends and other personal things. I don't know if I have verified my email address. How do I know, and how do I do that??

Hi your response was helpful, I have an additional question; I sent a payment request to a cousin for our vacation and I made a mistake and should have just told her to send the money to my email under friends and family. This was my first time using this feature as I only send money through purchases. I followed all instructions and and she confirmed receiving "whatever" the estimated payment says today is this pretty accurate? Or will this be completely **bleep** up? Thanks
