I saw this asked before, and I couldn't tell from the answer whether the moderator was saying there may have been a user error or this function wasn't possible. I am building a website that uses Wishlist Member to sign up members and PayPal as the payment gateway. I have a Sandbox account.
With other plug-ins (wpStoreCart, I believe -- I have since removed the software for other reasons, so I can't go back and retrace my steps), I have been able to use a Sandbox fake credit card number that was listed along with others on various sites (http://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/vhelp/paypalmanager_help/credit_card_numbers.htm) to check out from the merchant site itself so I know that function does work in that circumstance.
With Wishlist Member, the software sends people to PayPal to pay. I can log into Sandbox as if really paying using a fake email generated with a test buyer account and pay by simply agreeing to the terms, etc. That works great.
However, when I get to Sandbox, if I click the button that says "No PayPal account? Pay using your credit or debit card," if I try to use a fake credit card that is tied to one of my fake accounts, I get a message that says: "You cannot use an e-mail address or card number that belongs to an existing PayPal account. If you have a PayPal account, please log in. If you don't, please change the e-mail address or card number and try again."
That makes sense. I said I wanted to pay as a guest.
If I try to pay as a guest using a fake credit card account listed on that site, I still get this message: "You cannot use an e-mail address or card number that belongs to an existing PayPal account. If you have a PayPal account, please log in. If you don't, please change the e-mail address or card number and try again."
I take it you cannot use those fake credit card accounts to pay as a guest on the Sandbox site. So my question would be: is there any way to test that part of the process -- using the "Pay using your credit or debit card" link? Are there other fake credit card numbers available to test that portion?
