Authorized payment with US PP account - money extracted from Candadian PP account

I moved from Canada to the US in 2015. As per PP policies I had to open a new PayPal account for the US. I used to use my Canadian PP on Stubhub, until I removed it and linked my US PP to Stubhub.

I purchased tickets a few weeks ago, logged in and confirmed with my US PayPal account at the point of sale. However, PayPal still extracted my payment from my old Candian PayPal account, which was very fustrating. After several calls with both Stubhub and PayPal the only thing I learn was:

-Stubhub has no clue what I'm talking about, as their end shows that they correctly charged my US PayPal account (like my invoice shows)

-PayPal acknowledged the Candian PayPal account was charged for this purchase for some reason

- PayPal told me the billing agreement still active for the older Canadian account caused this

My question is: I only authorized this transaction with my US PayPal account - why would my old Canadian billing agreement authorize PP to extract payment from my other seperate Canadian account? Thanks for helping me get to the bottom of this.
