Managing My Shipping Address

Hiya folks,

I have a question and hopefully you have an answer and a fix.

When I am paying for something and I pull down my address file for delivery (which also has a few other people on it), it seems I have several address for me that are all the same. I have no idea why this is as I only live at one address, but I have almost a dozen addresses for me, all the same.

Why would this be? And how do I delete these duplicates and manage my addresses? I know it's probably no big deal, but it's pretty stupid to have all these addresses that are the same. I can't even find where to manage these (say add a different shipping address for someone else or delete another because they have moved etc).

An guidance or direction would be appreciated.

First at all: I have the SAME problem (as thousand of users aswell) and it can be a HUGE issue!

Shipping address is a wonderful feature since as in my case I live at home but nobody is at home to open the postman, so, I prefer to receive the shipment at the office (work-place address).

The problem is that Paypal seems to pickup any address used in the purchases and records them in the shipping address list.

That is really a stupid feature since it would ask you if you WISH to add ANY address in the list or forget it.

But even more stupid is not having any way to edit them or delete from the list. Why? What is the reason for that restriction?

The problem is not minor and can be HUGE since you can have in the list an "old" address (for example the place where you lived two years ago) and select it by mistake. What will happen if you paid 100 USD for something that never will arrive to your REAL address !!!

In fact it happened to me yesterday: I ordered to a onlineshop, and my wife disturbed me during the PayPal confirmation for the payment. The result is that by mistake, the address of the confirmation was my "home" address while what I wanted was my "work" address. The result will be that this shipment will take really longer and difficult to collect.

I insist: Why can´t I edit, delete or default my shipping addresses?

I had one year ago in the list one old and invalid address that I wanted to remove for the explained reason and it took to me almost 1 month of discussions with the PayPal "non-helping" team, and finally, after getting really angry, someone at PayPal cleaned the shipping list (that is NOT the solution)

It is really a good reason for not using PayPal !

I also wanted to purchase an item as a gift and have it shipped to my son. I could not change the shipping address in PayPal it was stuck the same as the billing address PayPal told me this was a security feature, obviously for them, and addresses could not be managed I now am searching for other payment options

Just want to edit the gift address that are frudulant.  Really do not know why you do not change this policy.
