While I have used Paypal for years to make purchases I have never sold an item to someone and have them apply their funds to my Paypal account. What is required of a buyer regarding my account for a buyer to apply funds to my account? Just my e-mail address? This may seem a very basic and obvious question, however, I've only used my Paypal account for purchases and not for receiving funds from an individual.
Thanks for any help.

You should send an invoice to the buyer, just ask for his or her email address. Here's why:
Seems this happens too many times - you are the seller and the buyer sends you an email invoice with an amount on it. The buyer is trying to hustle you by turning the billing process upside down - the intent is to make you believe that the buyer has actually sent you the money and expects you to ship the item. (The buyer may even try to pressure you ship by sending a follow-up email.) You ship the item and guess what - you will never get the money or your item back. You finally realize that there's no record of receiving money in your account Activity history section but, you've already shipped the item.
What is an invoice ??
An invoice commercial document issued by a seller to a buyer, relating to a sale transaction and indicating the products, quantities, and agreed prices for products or services the seller had provided the buyer. In other words, you are the seller, you send the invoice to the buyer, the buyer pays, you get the money, you then ship the item. It's straight forward.
Never rush a sale, as a seller, it's on your terms.
