So after two days of dealing with PayPal's business sales and integration teams, and never getting the same answer (or being directed back and forth like a ping-pong ball), I am coming here in hopes that some experienced developer can help me out.
I am a web developer. I have for years used PayPal's Payflow Pro to process credit cards online. Our PayPal Payflow Pro account processes transactions and the money is deposited via our merchant account at our outside bank. For PCI simplicity we use the hosted checkout pages feature, and PayPal/PayPal Credit are NOT listed on the page as payment options.
I am looking to set up another client with PayPal to process credit card payments online, though they do not have a merchant account of their own. Therefore I am looking at the PayPal Payments Pro product. From what I can read PayPal Payments Pro is identifical to PayPal Payflow Pro, with the except being that for PayPal Payments Pro no merchant account is required and instead PayPal acts as the acquiring bank. If this is indeed true I still have the following questions, which nobody will answer:
1. How would my client get the money out of their PayPal account and into their bank? Is it similar to a consumer (free) PayPal account where you provide checking account information and then you would log in and manually transfer the funds over?
2. With the hosted checkout pages for PayPal Payments Pro, can the PayPal and PayPal Credit payment options be hidden?
3. If they can be hidden, is there a penalty (such as higher transaction rates, etc.)?
