My friend sent money to me through a personal transaction this morning. I got the email informing me that she sent the money and it would show up when I log in. It's already been taken out of her bank account. It still hasn't shown up in my paypal account. Not as pending, not as received, nothing. There are no recent transactions on my account at all.
It's not a scam, I know this person and was aware of her intent to send me money beforehand. She's sent me money before with no problem.
We're both verified, so that isn't the issue. The email she sent the money to is correct (or else I wouldn't have gotten the email, duh), and is a confirmed email address associated with my account. Unless there's some way for one email to be associated with two accounts, that isn't the problem. I only have one account, anyway, so if it can be used on two separate accounts, someone's impersonating me.
Is this typical? I don't recall having this problem any other time. I contacted support via email. They told me if the money wasn't going to be instantly available, they would have sent an email about why it isn't. I got no such email. I'm hoping someone else has had this experience and can tell me "It's processing and should be there within 24 hours" or something.

As this is a member to member help group, we are not customer support. What we can share with you is that when a bank account is used as the funding source for the Send Money feature, it can take from 1 to 4 days for the money to go through the system and reach your PayPal Account. Because each bank has different processing schedules, the times can vary.

Ask your friend to send you the "receipt for payment" email message she received from PayPal... does it say anything about the recipient needing to open a PayPal account?
Ask your friend to log in to her PayPal account to check the status of her payment... does it say the payment is unclaimed?
What is the exact text (minus personal information) of the PayPal email message you received?
