Changing primary email will change existing API creds

Please adjust your systems to notify users when they change the primary email to also update thier API with the new credentials.  My API for my website was broken and I had no way of knowing until a client had to experience it.

The API username is typically based on the current email address of the account, however, changing the email address after API credentials were generated would not disable the API credentials.

Something else must have happened to cause a problem if you had to reset your credentials.  Maybe you accidentally deleted the signature and setup certificate method API credentials or something like that..??

Can you please confirm that change of the primary email will not do anything to the API integration?

For example, I have a primary email for my PayPal like payments@oldemail.com.

I assume that my API username was initially generated based on the domain name from the email address. It looks like this:

paypay_api1.oldemail.com

Now for our business there is a need to change the email address under our PayPal account. So the new email will be paymentsATnewemail.com.

Here is my question:

Can I be sure that the API integration between PayPal and my store will not be broken after I change the email?

After this change my email will be payments@newemail.com while API username will still be paypay_api1.oldemail.com
