Are PayPal's merchant services as inept as their individual account services?

I loathe feeling the need to add them to my ecommerce websites, but there are some customers who still would like to have it as an option. 

I've found PayPal to be incredibly problematic in many areas, and have wasted considerable times and energy resolving issues no other bank, merchant service provider, payment solution, etc ever seems to have.

I'm concerned that subscribing to these services could lead to even  bigger headaches, and I that their legendary glitches, resolutions that resolve nothing, ineffective communication, and other shortcomings will adversely impact my customers.

Is it worth it?
