I am using paypal standard payments (my own html posting to cgi-bin/webscr) to create payment buttons. I'm currently working in the sandbox. When I complete a transaction, the notifications (pseudo-emails) that show up say (on the seller side) "Instructions to merchant: The buyer hasn't entered any instructions." My question is, how do I allow the buyer to enter such instructions? Is it only available with encrypted payments? I understand the "cn" form variable is no longer supported. There is an old post (I'd insert the link but my submission keeps getting rejected for "invalid html") about how to enable the option in the seller account. I've done that for the main seller account (current menu trail: Account Settings -> Payment Preferences -> Block payments -> Display "Add instructions to seller" text input field), but this being enabled seems to have no effect. Apart from the sandbox, on our live site, when people pay with paypal, there is no input field for them to provide instructions, except on a paypal-hosted encrypted button. I've been unable to find a clear answer to this, one way or another, either here or on the net at large. Thanks for any info.
