Hello!
I am a first-time seller on eBay and a buyer contacted me with a bid to purchase my item (a pair of FRAME shorts). In his message, he wanted me to contact him via his phone number and I did since I did not suspect a scam yet and didn't know it was suggested to limit all communication through eBay's channels.
He then offered to pay me an additional $430 to purchase a gift card, shipping fee, and compensation for "gas and stress". He also said this was a gift for his daughter. He then said he would send me the payment, but I had to first email "<removed>" to "let them know we have an agreement". So I did and then I got a response on the same email thread saying the payment was pending. It also included an important note saying essentially that it may take a little time for the payment to appear in the Activity section of my account and that I would have to email them a picture of the gift card and receipt for verification before they could credit my PayPal account.
I also looked at the account of the buyer and it says the account was created yesterday and that the buyer was based in Singapore, however his shipping address was in Florida. I'm not sure if it is really a scam or if I'm just being overly suspicious, so any advice or input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance:)
