item in portugal

hi, im new here, i appreciate any help,  i saw an ebay listing for a genuine rolex watchband, its way below the cost new, it is a current year used like new piece. before i got a chance to bid on it the item was removed by ebay here is the ebay explanation of removal

160686247778 - Rolex Oyster 97200 20mm Submariner 116610 men's band bracelet stainless steel

We understand this may be disappointing, but occasionally we need to remove listings. In this case, the listing was removed because the copyright or trademark owner of this product reported that the item may be counterfeit.

this sounds to me that rolex had it removed

i have been in contact with the seller, he will sell it to me directly by me paying him directly with my paypal account. if its a fake or reproduction i dont care, if it is as nice as it looks its still worth what he wants for it. my questions are :

1) am i covered for my purchase if it does not come or it is not as described knowing that ebay removed for the possibility of being fake ??

2) am i correct in thinking that my payment to this person is only released to him from paypal on my behalf after i confirm reciept and satisfaction of the item to paypal ??

3) all you kind people with expierence, any thoughts on this ??? here a few lines of our conversations to look at, thank you so much for your input on this, i truly appreciate it

Welcome to the boards!

If you have a suspicion the goods are counterfeit, I would recommend against engaging in further commerce with this invididual.  If a merchant is knowingly selling fake goods, they've already crossed a boundary of acceptable behavior - who's to say they'll even send the item at all?

Additionally, knowingly accepting a shipment of counterfeit goods could place you at legal risk in your region.  Prices that are too good to be true, usually are just that.  Smiley Sad

On The other hand, I sold authentic coins to a buyer, who bought one than asked if I had another to list (oriental by his emails ) after receiving said not as described. No problem even though I KNEW they were authentic didn't want the hassle & 3buyers of coins were absolutely happy & second chance bidders waiting.Took me forever to get him to send back.Had to get paypal involved to do it.Now I know why,he sent back fake coins from China. One look is all I needed. Not even close to what I sent & he needed time to order the fakes.Paypal reimbursed this thief , & said if I file a police report &mail they would look at it, & MAYBE send me back my money.Google china faking coins from ALL countries (Morgans included)Bottom line if they reimburse thieves like this, they will reimburse an honest person like you,buy it &let them do the leg work when you return. That is what YOU pay them for...........Happy New Year !

If these are counterfeit , and you are suggesting so why is eBay allowing them to sell on their site?????This hurts honest sellers & buyers shouldn't it be YOUR job to check into this before allowing this kind of listing.Just because you tell this person if sounds to good to be true,YoU already know it yet allow this selling behavior to go on.There are people who do believe they are paying for what is listed on EBAY as stated because of the good sellers.Who is at fault here?? Clean up your act, people are leaving this site in droves ,or haven't you checked Ebays last quarterlies ????????
