Payments are being automatically accepted into the wrong currency

Hello everyone,

 

I often receive payments for work from a US company in dollars, but in the past always had the option of accepting the payment and choosing which currency to accept. Given that I live in France, I need the money in Euros. However, the last few payments have been automatically accepted in dollars creating a balance in a currency that I do not need, and I then have to convert the balance back to Euros, which I suspect is costing me money in the process. I've tried contacting Paypal via their Twitter feed and their online chat but am unable to get any answers. I've looked at my settings but can't seem to find a way of insisting that payments be accepted by me manually. Any suggestions?
