Ambiguous error message when trying to Add Money for the past few days

When I try to "Add Money" I keep getting an error saying "We’re sorry, things don’t appear to be working right now. Try again later."

I assumed it was some glitch that would resolve itself in a few hours, but the situation hasn't changed in the past few days.

I cannot reach customer service by phone (They say they "cannot take you call at this time").

Currently I have a negative balance so I would like to pay.  I have no real problem if Paypal doesn't want me to pay, of course!

That could be the reason, if you have a negative balance that was caused by a failed bank transfer then Paypal may stop you using that bank account in the future so the issue does not re-occur and forces you to use the safer (for them) option of a card.

Ways to clear a negative balance.

1. Transfer funds from your bank account via the add funds function.....if its not been blocked by Paypal.

2. The quickest and easiest way is to get a mate or family member to send a payment via the friends / family option. As long as they don't fund it with a card it should be free.

3. Via a card over the phone with paypal.

4. Or mail a cheque as per link.

5. Buy something and Paypal will normally add the debt to that payment during checkout when you authorise the purchase.
