Wayfair won't let me pay using my PayPal balance.

Wayfair only allows me to pay with a credit card through PayPal, it won't let me use my balance.

It only gives me the options to pay with my debit card or a PayPal credit card. I have more than enough $$$ to cover the purchase. I removed the debit card from my PayPal account, now it only gives me the credit option.

Is that normal behavior? Is there a way around it?

There are multiple reasons why a payment method may not be available for a payment when it is still active in your wallet. One is the security system which evaluates any risk associated and only allows certain payment methods.

Another might be if there is a billing agreement associated with the payment. A card may be needed to establish the agreement, after wish you may be able to change the payment method by visiting the billing agreement details in your account.

Another is that the bank may be returning a response that declines it for the payment.

Make sure the funds in your balance are in the correct currency, cleared and not pending and have you done this >>>

Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > second down click on update next to your preferred way to pay and put a dot in the balance option.

It's best to select another payment method or try the payment at a different time.
