I have received my package from a seller but the payment from me to them is still on hold. I don’t know how to get them to release the hold

Payments received for the purchase of goods and / or services are subject to a holding period of up to 21 days or until we can confirm that the buyer has received the item or service paid for using tracking information which should be provided by the seller.

 

If the seller provided you with tracking information and the status has been updated to reflect that the item was received by you, they can reach out to our Customer Support Specialists directly to request that the funds are released.

 

To contact Customer Support, please advise the seller to follow the steps below:

  1. If you're reading this on the PayPal app, tap Contact at the bottom of the screen. If you're on a web browser, go to our Contact Us page.
  2. Select the issue that most closely matches your reason for contacting us.
  3. If the information you're shown on-screen doesn't answer your question, scroll down. Depending on the issue, you'll see an option to message or call us.

Alternatively, you may have the option to confirm receipt of the item or service. This will allow us to release the funds to the seller. Please see below for instructions on how you can do so:

  1. Click Activity at the top of the page.
  2. Find and click the original payment for the item.
  3. Click Confirm receipt.
  4. Click Yes to confirm that you received the order.

Please note, the option to confirm receipt of an item only becomes 48 hours after the payment was completed.
