Missing transaction. "We're waiting for the receiver to accept your payment"

My friend send me some money but I haven't receive anything. He got this message: "We're waiting for the receiver to accept your payment. They may be using a different email on PayPal or they need to create a PayPal account." My account is working as I got money from another source yesterday. What should I do?

Get the sender to check the email address or phone number that they used.

They may have made an error and it was either sent to another email address of yours that is not linked to your paypal account OR to another persons email address that has not opened a paypal account yet.

If its showing on there side as unclaimed and the email was incorrect then if there is a cancel option tell them to use it.

If there is not a cancel option then it should time out at 30 days as long as the email recipient does not open a paypal account and claim it, if that happens post back for more advice.
