Is there is any way to put the money from a gift card into my bank account straight from paypal?

So, I have heard that you can use the money on visa gift cards (or any gift cards) and transfer it to your credit card/bank account through paypal? I have tried to do it myself but I cant figure it out. Maybe this isn't true, but if this is true please respond and let me know ASAP.

You’re supposed to activate your card (call number on back of your card) and add your bank information, however I did activate my card and have used it but it won’t let me transfer. It keeps telling me to activate my card 😳. So I’m calling the number on the back of my card.
