I believe PayPal charged me twice

I received 2 charges that add up to 30 euros, and PayPal tried to get It from my bank, but I didnt have enough funds. I transferred some money to my bank account and thought nothing of It, thinking PayPal would try to charge me again, until today PayPal asked me to add funds to my PayPal account for those 30 euros. I added them, and then I saw that PayPal charged my bank for that money and then asked me to add funds. So now I see that PayPal charged me for those 2 payments, and then I added 30 euros to the PayPal account, which dont appear in my balance. Anyone knows if this is some kind of error? Tried going through PayPal support, but It isnt really helpful.

The extra 30 euros will eventually end up in your PayPal balance as a top up (not towards the purchase). Give it time to process.

If you have failed bank transfer then Paypal automatically keep trying to access those funds to clear your negative balance.
They have already fronted the payment to the seller on your behalf and so want the money owed.

If you sent a bank transfer to your Paypal account and Paypal also automatically applied for the funds as well then you would have 2 payments processing to your paypal balance.
The first one to arrive will clear the negative balance and the second one will be credited as a + to your balance and you can withdraw it back to your balance once cleared.

funny how bank accounts can now insta swap money about and even between different banks

Yep there is instant transfer but for adding funds to your paypal balance paypal user the slower (cheaper) option which goes via ACH in batches.

If I pay a cheque into a bank I have to wait a few days for it to clear, same principle.
