A recurring payment that was initiated while I was a guest

I want to make it clear that I do have a paypal account right now. It is tied to the same email address and debit card that I initiated these recurring payments with. The issue is that the recurring payment was made as a guest, I did not have an account at that time. I decided to make a paypal account after I had initiated the recurring payments, believing that because I had the same email address, and debit card that was made when I initiated said payments as a guest account, that they would be linked.

I am trying to stress those details here because for some reason, this is not quite understood by PayPal support, they tell me that I have no recurring payments on my account. That defeats the entire purpose of my problem because I am aware that my actual account has no recurring payments. The problem is that I am getting money withdrawn from my bank account every month and I have no way to stop it. Do I need to simply tell my bank to block the payments? Or can this be done via PayPal? I see that this is a recurring problem because several questions have been posted over the years with this same issue. Is there a solution? Thank you in advance!

I also want to add that I have reached out to the merchant and they told me that this can only be fixed on PayPal's end. So that is where I am at.

So If you need help for a guest buyer transaction then you can;

1. Phone Paypal customer services and see if they will help you.
OR
2. Contact your card issuer to cancel any payments / subscriptions.
