A customer sent me a payment why is it still pending

Why would a payment still be pending

Pending as in an echeque awaiting clearance OR on hold as a new seller?

I'm having the same issue - I've sent a payment and it's still showing as pending for me and my friend who I've sent it to. It said the echeque should clear on 4th Nov but hasn't

Clearance date is an estimate dependent on your banks processing times.

However if its taking a lot longer it may be because it could fail as not enough funds in the senders bank account to fund the payment.

The money has already come out of my account so there was more than enough money in the account. I'll keep checking but this is stupid for it to take so long and no updates provided unless checked.
