I am a small business, based in the UK, whose primary currency is £sterling. A non-UK client wants to pay me in $US via PayPal. I find the fees section(s) of the PayPal site hard to follow. Can anyone please help me work out exactly what charges I will incur for receiving this payment, both in terms of PayPal transaction charges and conversion charges. Many thanks

Why not just tell him to pay in sterling, its easy enough, just invoice or money request him in your currency and then when he pays it tells him how much will be deducted from his funding source in USD (he would pay currency conversion fees).
As for what your cross border charges would be that would depend on what country he's in and are listed in FEES in paypals user agreement.
