Friend mistakenly sent money to wrong account

Is there any recourse when a friend mistakenly sends money to the wrong account? It was an honest mistake as the other account holder has the same name. It was not for goods or services. The account holder had to have known she was not the intended recipient but claimed the money anyway. When my friend requested the money back, the account holder blocked the account the money was received from.

Should never send to a 'name' always check the correct email address or mobile number with the recipient before sending the funds.

Unfortunately as it was sent as a gift using friends/family there is no buyer protection and nothing Paypal can do for you.

If she funded the paypal payment via a credit card she could check with her card issuer and see if they will chargeback for you her BUT its unlikely as again it was a 'gift' payment, worth trying though.
