Hi Community, My sibling has been a victim of romance fraud. Hes in his late 20s but a very gullible person. So he thought the person he met via Tinder and chatting to via Google Meet was real was. Long story short - they managed to get nearly 15-20k GBP off him and emptied his life savings. This is by saying they got into an accident and needing money for hospital treatments etc. They tricked him into sending multiple times of 500-1k to multiple paypal accounts totalling 15-20k. And it was under family and friends too. We have reported this to Actionfraud now but would love to hear what the best next steps are. Appreciate anyone helping us out on this. As said he’s a very gullible person and managing to save 3 years was a big thing being on low wage. Now everythings gone. Thanks

Sadly nothing paypal can do on this one, if he funded that paypal payment via a card then he could see if his card issuer can help him but they may decline as well as he sent a 'gift' of money and not funds for a purchase.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
