Missing PayPal Reversal PPD Money and Denied Payment

Recently, I fell into a fraud incident and had to get a new bank account. While waiting for a new debit card , I created a new PayPal account and linked it to my bank account so I could actually spend money on things. I sent $120 to my friends and family through PayPal since they lended me money while the fraud situation was happening from my new bank account. A few days later I was sent $600 via PayPal from my dad, which I transferred over to my bank, thinking I could pull it out at will. Six days later, though, PayPal reversed the payment (Nov. 14 date of "PayPal Reversal PPD"). I have no idea why and nor does my bank. I also have a -120 balance as that too was rejected a day or two after the reversal. Why did PayPal just decide to deny everything? Where did my money go??

Thank you so much for your help! If it were like 60 dollars, I would have not cared, but this is a large sum of money.

Did you confirm your bank account after adding it?

Is the name on your bank account exactly the same as the name on your paypal account?

Yes, I linked my bank account via the Wallet tab and my name is the exact same in both locations. Perhaps there’s a 10-day waiting period? Even then it’s felt like an awful long time to wait for reversal

Hello @Liam161

Welcome to the PayPal Community! I'm sorry to hear you're running into some issues with a few transactions on your PayPal account recently. If the bank account was input incorrectly, that may explain why your recent transactions have not completed properly. We normally recommend confirming your bank like @kernowlass was mentioning above before transferring any funds to or from a bank. If a bank transfer fails, it may potentially take up to 5 business days for them to appear back in your PayPal balance. If you have any questions in the mean-time, feel free to reach out to our Customer Service teams for further assistance.

Good luck!
