Has my account been compromised?

I received an e-mail from PayPal saying a credit card had been linked to my PP account fallowed shortly after by an e-mail saying that the card had been set as my default payment method.  I didn't do either of those things.  I haven't used PayPal in over 6 months, probably closer to 18.

Has my account been broken into?

I removed the credit card link and the link to my bank account.  Am I safe?

Should I just cancel/unsubscribe/quit/whatever my PayPal account to be safe?

Where on the normal PayPal Help Center would I post suspicious activity to my account?  I didn't see anything along those lines in the 'Login/Security' section.

Thank you

Then best change your password and security questions and you should be good to go.

Also do a malware and anti-virus scan on your computer to be on the safe side.

Was there another credit card added?

Did you remove the credit card in your paypal wallet?

Or did your account look fine when you logged in?

Hard to advise with the info you supplied.

Was there another credit card added?

There was only one credit card in my wallet.  It was the one that I did not add myself.

Did you remove the credit card in your paypal wallet?

Yes.  I also removed my bank account.  Currently there are no accounts in my wallet.

Or did your account look fine when you logged in?

My account looked fine except for the credit card.  Paypal says there has been no activity in the last 90 days which is correct.  There has also been no activity in the linked bank account that I didn't recognize.

Thank you very much
