Payments charged on alternate card instead of default/preferred

The last few online payments on my account have been charged on another card than the one I set as default/preferred.

This is very unfortunate, since this card is linked to an account which has a hefty conversion fee, which the default/preferred one does not have.

Is someone from Paypal actually checking this board, or shall I directly send them my layer?

This happens with me when I use DoorDash. It uses the card I first used, not the one I have set as preferred now.
