Seller "Buy now" button - unable to edit a button

Trying to edit an older "Buy Now" button that has multiple price options to change prices and keep getting an error "Things don't appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later."

Details: I'm on https://www.paypal.com/buttons/saved seeing all my buttons. If I try to edit a "Subscribe" type button I can do that, being led to https://www.paypal.com/buttons/subscribe where I can edit. However, when it's a "Buy Now" button with price options, I'm redirected to https://www.paypal.com/webapps/shoppingcart/error even though there's no relevant shopping cart and see the error "Things don't appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later."

I also tried to create a new button but didn't see any way to make different prices there.

So how to fix this?

Thank you for your reply and glad to know the issue is now fixed. PayPal tech support answered that the buttons are deprecated and were very unhelpful. How is that a response to a bug report beats me.

I now wanna modify the price for all active subscriptions and doing it via the website would take quite a long time doing it manually one by one. Is there a way to automate the process so that all the old subscriptions will be updated to the new prices?

Hello @colnect

Thank you for the Kudos! I am sorry to hear about your recent experience with tech support. I will make sure to follow up internally to make sure we are thoroughly researching solutions before sending a response to those inquiries.

In regards to your next question about subscriptions, you can modify the price for all subscriptions under a given plan by updating the price in the plan from your PayPal subscription dashboard [https://www.paypal.com/billing/plans] or via the PayPal REST API [https://developer.paypal.com/docs/api/subscriptions/v1/#plans_update-pricing-schemes] depending on your preferred method.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need any further assistance.

Sincerely,
John

The subscription dashboard shows nothing, probably as all were created by the "subscribe" button and I can only see them on "Manage Subscriptions" https://www.paypal.com/billing/subscriptions and change one by one. The REST API entry you sent also refers to a plan ID which is something which doesn't exist. So, is there a way for me in https://www.paypal.com/billing/subscriptions or anywhere else change the prices on a subset or, at the very least, be able to filter only for specific items? It's really a terrible page showing always only 10 entries per page without any option to filter so I end up having to go through hundreds of pages to find the relevant subscriptions and manually edit the price...

And thanks for following up internally, the person who formerly gave a very bad support simply didn't reply anymore...

Hello @colnect,

These legacy PayPal subscriptions without a plan ID can be updated programmatically with the legacy UpdateRecurringPaymentsProfile API Operation (NVP) [UpdateRecurringPaymentsProfile API Operation (NVP) (paypal.com)] using the API username, password, and signature from your PayPal account settings for authentication [https://www.paypal.com/businessmanage/account/accountAccess/unifiedsettings/apiaccess/firstParty].

I’m sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Please consider the newer plan-based subscriptions for future profile creation to make pricing updates easier.

Sincerely,
John
