Your Account has been suspended Notification

Why do I keep receiving emails from <removed>  informing me that my account has been temporarily restricted?  It states they found suspicious activity.. and that I must confirm my identity to confirm that I own the card. Yet there are no notifications in my account when I log in and there is no apparent issue with the credit card on file.

 

It also states that I will receive an email within 5 working days one I complete the requested task -- by using a link in the email.

 

IS THIS A SCAM?

Yep sounds like a typical spoof so NEVER USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.

I just received that similar email.  When I clicked on the link my virus software warned me this was a malicious site and to back out safely which I did.  I reported this to PayPal and am waiting to hear back from them.

Just delete it, hundreds get sent most days, as long as you know its a spoof delete and forget it.
