Hold on payment

I opened a Paypal account recently to receive payments from a company I work for. This is a salary that I will be receiving and now it is on hold. They said it would take 7 days from verification but so far it's been 8 days. I wonder what would happen if they withheld Paypal employees salary? Anyone have any answers for me?
