Hold Question/Issue

I recently sent my buddy some PC stuff and we instead of him directly sending, I messed up and did "request." Long story short, it requires a hold and asked for a tracking.. he lives right down the street, so I delivered this myself. It mentions "no tracking needed" as an option, so I clicked that and figured that in 48 hours the hold would be lifted? I was not sure if that was the case, or if he has to do something on his end... or do I just issue a refund and wait for his debit card to get the money back and send direct?  I also was curious if he has a "confirmed received" option as well that maybe they haven't seen? Thanks!

With payments received for tangible goods Paypal would request valid tracking information confirming the item has been delivered to the buyer. As they can validate the tracking information online, once it is delivered they can release the funds. If you have received the funds for an item that was delivered then no tracking number is applicable and Paypal would be unable to release these funds any sooner than the 21 days.

If you mark the transaction as processed then the buyer may have the option on their account to mark the transaction as delivery/satisfied. If the buyer confirms this by clicking on the "Confirm Receipt" button, the funds may be released to you sooner. This is not always guaranteed.
If not then sadly its 21 days.
