the details of the purchase are not showing in the email

Since PayPal updated the website without even informing customers I am receiving email confirmations of payments received but these just contain the total amount and not a full description as in the invoice I sent to my customer.  Can anybody help?  Its disgraceful that I can find nowhere on the PayPal website where I can send them an email.  I don't want to call every time I have a problem as  the words are often lost and action not taken!
