Hey Sv_esh_nikova,

Please read the following article regarding official documents and their acceptance rates.

CIP Acceptable Documents guidelines

In some countries, we try to verify yourpersonal information and/or your business entity electronically. If your personal information changed (e.g. name or address), it may impact our ability to complete this electronic verification and you may need to upload the documents in your PayPal account instead. The guide below outlines what we can or cannot accept as valid documents.

Personal Information Verification

Proof of Identity
Acceptable identity documents must be government issued and must include information such as full first and last name, date of birth, issue and expiry date, a photo and a signature of the document bearer, as well as the document ID number. The name on this document must match the name you've registered on your PayPal account.

The document needs to be fully visible and unredacted. Partial documents cannot be accepted as a valid proof of identity.

Acceptable Proof of Identity documents are:
  • Driving licence
  • Passport or passport card
  • Other form of State or Government Issue ID
  • National ID card/Residency Permit (front and back).
Note: a legal name change document such as a marriage certificate, divorce certificate or a deed poll may be required in addition to your proof of identity if your legal name has changed since the sign-up.

 Unacceptable documents:
  • Polling cards/UK Electoral cards
  • State medical cards, student cards
  • Selfies
  • Expired, partial or obscured documents.
Note: if you've recently changed your name and the information on your identity document doesn't match the information on your account, you will be asked to provide additional documentation to evidence the legal name change.

Proof of Address
A proof of address is the document which confirms your residential/home address. It must be issued within the last 12 months and show both your full name and residential address, which must match the address on your PayPal account. If you have changed address since sign-up, ensure to update the address in your PayPal account before uploading the document with your new address. The document must show a physical address, PO Box addresses are not accepted.

Acceptable Proof of Address documents are:
  • Utility bill (gas, electricity, water, phone/broadband, mobile, etc.)
  • Payslip
  • Bank or credit card statement (transaction dates can be used as equivalent of issue date)
  • Driving licence with physical address listed (must be issued within last 12 months to be accepted)
  • National ID card (can be accepted if not used as proof of identity and it is issued the last 12 months)
  • Tax Authority Letter
  • Proof of residency.
Unacceptable documents:
  • Envelopes
  • Selfies outside your house
  • Residency letters signed by a landlord
  • Commercial invoices or receipts
  • Voting and electoral identification cards
  • Expired, partial or obscured documents.

Business Entity Verification

Letter of Authorisation

The document must include the following information such:
