Log in problems, need 2 step validation steps but can’t log in to do it

All of a sudden I can’t log in. Red triangle appears and it reads they can’t confirm it’s me !

Rang PayPal and was told there is a security block and they need to run a few validation steps to reset account access.
They emailed me a link to access an ‘authenticator app’ and said I can do it myself but I can’t log in to follow the steps so that was useless. Had six live chats and several phone calls since Sunday.

Still can’t log in.

I requested a call back but have heard nothing. Help please ?
